Message from Academic Director

Information technology lies at the heart of the financial services industry’s transformation. With growing trends such as the cloud, big data and mobility, new capabilities are opening up for financial institutions to transform customer experiences, tap into capital growth opportunities and meet compliance standards. To stay ahead of the curve, the financial services sector is demanding globally competitive talent to keep pace with the technological advancement and innovation more than ever.

The Financial IT Academy @SMU (FITA), academy was set up to support the continual training needs of the financial services practitioners. It has been appointed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) to design and deliver quality training programmes to train a new breed of financial IT professionals who are well versed in integrating business and IT initiatives.

Having spent 25 years with Citibank primarily in technology management for its global and regional corporate banking applications prior to helming FITA, together with the collective wisdom drawn from our Industry Advisory Board members, we are poised to deliver competency-based programmes enriched with insights and pertinent trends of the industry. We look forward to partnering the financial institutions in developing a talent pool of financial IT professionals for the future. To the professionals, we encourage you to take charge of your professional development and enhance the value proposition you bring.
