SkillsFuture is a national movement that calls on Singaporeans to acquire, hone or deepen their skills, knowledge and competencies to keep pace with a rapidly evolving economy, that is being reshaped by technology and globalisation. Whether it is to skill, reskill, upskill or multiskill, the movement aims to provide opportunities for our people to develop their fullest potential throughout life.

SkillsFuture Credit and Funding Support

All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500 from January 2016. Your credit will not expire and the government will provide periodic top-ups, so you may accumulate your credit.

Your SkillsFuture Credit can be used on top of existing government course subsidies to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Eligible participants are eligible for 70% funding under CITREP+ (for NICF courses), 70% funding under IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS), or 50% funding under IBF Financial Training Scheme (IBF-FTS). Furthermore, Singaporeans above 40 years old are eligible for 90% funding for our IBF-STS and IBF-FTS courses.

FITA offers wide-ranging courses which you can use your SkillsFuture Credit for. They are:

SkillsFuture Study Awards for Financial Sector

The SkillsFuture Study Awards are for early to mid-career Singaporeans who are committed to developing and deepening their skills in key sectors and have relevant working experience in such sectors.

You will receive a monetary award of S$5,000, which you can use to defray out-of-pocket expenses associated with the course that you will be taking. It can also be used on top of existing Government course fee subsidies. There is no bond to be served.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Singaporeans with minimum 3 years of work experience in the financial sector
  • Committed to deepening skills in the sector
  • Has track record of contributing to the learning or training of self and/or others
  • Applications must be received prior to commencement of the course
  • Not a previous recipient of any SkillsFuture Study Award

SkillsFuture Study Award for Infocomm Technology (ICT) Sector

Eligibility Criteria
  • Singaporeans with at least 3 years of work experience in the ICT sector
  • Committed to deepening skills in the sector
  • Has track record of contributing to learning and training of self and/or others
  • Applicants must not have completed course of study at the point of application
  • Courses should be relevant to the needs of the ICT sector
  • Not a previous recipient of any SkillsFuture Study Award
